Speaker: Siobhan (Sam) Bennett
Description: Sam presents a look at human trafficking from her professional expertise as well as from her personal experiences. Her journey is one of healing and recovery from sexual trafficking as well an understanding of the multigenerational nature of sexual abuse, violence, and trafficking. She shares insights and research about the misperceptions about such violence as well as the under-appreciation of the significance of sexual assault as trauma. She concludes her remarks with a discussion about ways to address and recover from such abuse.
