Leading in Crisis and Leading in Office: Striving for equal representation for woman

Speaker: TBA

Description:  Women have proven they can lead – in crisis, in families, in planning. But how do we achieve equality for women in public leadership?  Women are 51% of the US population, yet only slightly more than 25% of those elected to political office are women. What are the barriers for women running, getting elected and serving? Pew Research identified family obligations, public attitudes, lack of the same connections that men have, and the fact that women are held to higher standards than men as just a few of the roadblocks women running for office are facing. Money is a big deterrent, as well. It’s time to look at these barriers, figure out how to overcome them and become familiar with how to run for office and where to get help.
