Combatting and Preventing Non-Consensual Online Image sharing
Speaker: Katelyn Bowden
Description: Intimate image sharing is a component of many healthy relationships in the modern era. What happens though when someone obtains or shares your intimate images without your consent? "Revenge porn" is a growing issue, primarily for women and girls. Katelyn will talk about steps you can take to protect yourself and to regain control of your images if they are shared without your permission.
Speaker Biography: Katelyn Bowden is an advocate for victims of non-consensual intimate image sharing (revenge porn). She has done extensive work previously with the BADASS Army, a non-profit dedicated to stopping revenge pornography, where she was Founder and CEO. Her advocacy work has helped thousands of NCP victims reclaim their images and heal from the trauma of online exposure. Katelyn’s free time is spent arguing on Twitter, being a Pinterest mom, making bad puns, and generally doing her best to be a bad influence in the best way possible.
